Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Social Network free?
Yes - talk.newimage.com is completely free!
How do I get started?
It's easy! Register and create your profile. Invite friends to join talk.newimage.com, to build up your group.
I can't sign on! What do I do?
All login credentials are case-sensitive. If you had a membership on our other forums, you will need to now use your email address as your log in name. But don?t worry ? your screen name will remain the same as it was before, and your email address will not appear in each of your posts.

If you still cannot login, please contact us techtalk@newimage.com with the following information: operating system, browser (name and version #), user ID, and any other info you may have that can help us troubleshoot. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
If you cannot remember your password, you will need to click on the Forgot Password link at the top right of each page, and follow the steps from there.
Can I change my user ID?
Unfortunately, no. Due to programming restraints, you may not change your user ID once your account is established.
Can I change my screen name?
Yes! Your screen name can be changed at any time, as many times as you'd like.
Do I need to have a profile in order to use the site?
You don't need a profile to use the site - you can still view public images and video - but you will be limited in what you can actually do if you are not logged in. In order to upload photos, post a blog or forum entry, make friends, join groups, really, in order to take any action at all, you need to register and set up a profile.
What do you do with my personal info that I enter into my profile?
Short answer: nothing you don't want us to. Long answer: when you first create your profile, we ask you to check a box that says "I do not want to receive information..." If you don't want us to share your info with our advertising partners, then check that box and we won't. That's a promise.
Should I log in?
As with most social networks, you really won't get the full effect of talk.newimage.com unless you've logged in. As a "guest" (not logged in), you can browse the site and check out photo, forum, and blog content - but only if it's public. If not logged in, you won't be able to upload your own content, view your friends? private content, add friends or groups, rate public content, or edit your profile.
Where and how do I upload photos?
Once logged in, you can upload from anywhere on the site that you see the "UPLOAD" button. You can also upload very easily from your logged-in profile page.
Do you read and approve all the comments?
We have dedicated moderators who will review all comments and posts to ensure they are all in keeping with our terms of site use. They will also review all posts or comments flagged by the community as offensive, and may edit or remove these entries in accordance with our terms of use. The goal is to foster a healthy, supportive network.
Can I see other people's profiles? Can they see mine?
Yes you can, and yes they can, depending on your settings. When you update your profile, there is a section that allows you to determine which parts of your profile and posts you want private, public, or to be shared only with your friends.
I am being harassed by someone on Talk.NewImage.com. What should I do?
You should let us know by emailing us at talk@newimage.com right away and we'll look into the issue. We have a set of guidelines on how to treat your fellow members on the site, and violations of our code of conduct will not be tolerated.
How can I report offensive or inappropriate pictures and stuff?
Every piece of media - photos, blogs, videos, etc - will have a button that says "flag as inappropriate." Click that and our staff will be notified to take a look at it.
Can I belong to more than one network within talk.newimage.com?
Absolutely. We understand that many of you are interested in multiple cosmetic surgery procedures, and we have designed the community to allow your single log in to let you into all of the procedures. You can change your default community home network at any time by editing that field in your profile.
What are Reciprocating Friends? Why are some photos outlined in red?
We allow you to select anyone as your friend, without their approval. We do this so that you don't have to worry about potential rejection. If the person whom you add as a friend then selects you as their friend, the two of you become "Reciprocating Friends", and will both have access to special features. You can identify your reciprocating friends by the red boxes that surround their thumbnail photos. Please remember that if you save your privacy settings to 'friends only', then anyone you select as a friend will be able to view your profile and/or blogs. Choose friends accordingly.
Does someone need to approve me to make them a friend?
No, you can add whomever you choose as a friend. However, to gain access to special features like birthday reminders, access to friends' only profiles and blog entries, and more, they will need to add you as a friend as well. When you add someone as a friend, they receive a notification on their home page. If someone has not added you back as friend, you may contact them via their personal message board. (Please note that everyone has the ability to only allow friends to contact them or block private and instant messages altogether.)
Can I prevent people from knowing I'm online? What are my privacy options?
Your privacy is important to us. We offer a variety of options for you to protect your privacy. First, we never provide your real name or email address to anyone. You control what information you make available in your profile. You may set your profile as public, friends only or private at any time. With your blog entries, you can make each entry public, private or friends only. Even if you choose to have your profile public, you can prevent people from instant messaging you and knowing you are online. To control your privacy, visit your 'edit profile' section via the link on your home page.
Always remember to exercise caution when giving out your personal information.
How do I make the information in the "Your Messages" section of my home page disappear?
Because email is no longer reliable due to spam filters, we provide you online notification of recent actions involving your account (in addition to sending you email alerts). These include notice that someone has sent you a private message or ecard, written you a tribute or added you as a friend. To make notification of private messages, ecards or tributes disappear, you must view the item sent to you. To make notification of a friend addition disappear, you must view that individual?s profile. Click the links in your message center and then refresh your home page and you will notice the notifications no longer appear.
Can I delete comments I left on someone's personal message board?
Unfortunately, no. Only the person who owns that message board may delete comments. Before you post any comment, be sure to preview it first before publishing. If you feel something must be deleted, contact the message board moderator.
How do I delete comments someone left on my message or blog?
Next to every comment on your journal and message board, you will see an X icon. Click it to delete that message. Deleting a message deletes the message and all replies to that message.
How do I include pictures in my blog or in personal message board threads?
When posting, click on the "Source" button in the upper left-hand corner of the text editor. Where you want the picture to go, use the following code:

A great site for additional HTML help is http://www.cwru.edu/help/introHTML/TCh7.html Always make sure you preview your post to make sure the picture or any other HTML you've used works correctly!
How do I delete a blog entry?
You may find & delete a specific blog entry via your 'Blog Settings' page. Find your entry by title or date, click the box to the left of the title and hit the delete button. Once you delete an entry, the content CANNOT be recovered so be sure you wish to delete that entry before doing so. Remember that you can just as easily EDIT your entry and change the privacy settings to "Private" so no one but you may view it.
How do I edit a blog entry?
Go to your "My Blog" page and find the appropriate blog entry. Click the link 'Edit' that appears at the bottom left of that entry. Make appropriate changes and hit 'Save'. You can also find & edit a specific blog entry via your 'Blog Settings' page. Find your entry by title or date, click the hyperlinked title and make the appropriate changes and hit 'Save'. The edit feature allows you to change text, the associated thumbnail image or your privacy settings.
Who owns the copyright to my blog entries?
As long as your blog entry is an original work by you, you own the copyright. By using talk.newimage.com, you grant us free limited use rights to display your work on our network. Please view our Terms of Service for more details. If you do not want anyone on our social network to be able to view your blog entries, be sure to set your blog privacy settings accordingly.
Can I control who reads my entire blog?
Currently you can only do this on an entry by entry basis. In the near future, we expect to add a privacy feature that lets you make your entire blog private with the click of one button.
Are all groups open to anyone?
Group creators and moderators have the ability to change this setting in groups. Here's how each type of group is defined:
Public groups can be read by anyone and anyone may join.
Semi-public groups can be read by anyone, but users must apply and be approved in order to join.
Private groups are visible only to members and members must be invited by the moderator to join, you cannot apply.
I can't find someone by her screen name.
If you are accessing the search function within a specific network, you can only find members who have that network as their default categories. If you don't find someone, don't fret! Click on the Community Home tab, and do a search within the member section there. This will enable you to search the entire network of all categories.
But wait...I have more questions!
You can always ask the moderators any questions you have, or feel free to contact us at talk@newimage.com or techtalk@newimage.com for a technical issue.
